Can’t decide Windows Small Business Server 2003 or Xserve

Have a small business of 40 computers, 1/2 Mac, 1/2 PC. Have old Gateway Windows NT 4.0 Domain controller that is dying and is needing replacement. When I try to convey my requirements to a certified microsoft reseller, I never get a straight answer back from them about what I actually need. I get a lot of technical jargon about all the ROBUST features of stuff I don't understand. I need a simple server for a 1-man IT department that provides PDC, DHCP, Email, and web hosting for the above. MS Reseller say's with his package, I can have 300 clients and have Oracle full scale. It seems to me that the entry level XServe would do the job and without me having to become a MSCERT dweeb on top of my already busy schedual. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :?:
