System: xServe G5, 3 GB RAM, 10.4.6 Server updated from 10.3.9 Server

Simply toggling DHCP off, then back on gives the result showing at the 13:46 mark in the log below-with no other changes being made to the configuration.

I’ve already deleted and rebuilt the DHCP config once. I figured that something got munged in the update, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

I’m open to suggestions about how to fix this. I had no trouble w/ the 10.3.9 config (on an QS Dual 1.0), ever….

Here’s my log from Server Admin after system restart:

I’ve faced the same problem. Mac OS X Server 10.4.7, XServe G5 says “no available interfaces” at boot. When I manually restart DHCP service – everything goes right.

en0 is facing the world and gets an IP from cable provider via DHCP. en1 has an AirPort connected and DHCP listens to this interface. Everything else works just fine. When I manually execute "sudo serveradmin dhcp stop/start" DHCP starts as it should.

Here’s a part of the log:

I’m having the exact same issue on 2 servers 10.4.10 all current updates. One Intel XServe, one MacPro. Did anyone ever find a real fix?

    (bump)

    I’m having this issue on a Powermac G4 (3.3)

Never could replicate it on the previous hardware, perhaps it’s a ( GB ) network card issue?
