AppleFileServiceAccess.log and booted user help

i have a remote user who can't copy some files from a 10.3 server. yes it needs an upgrade, but i need a solution before then ideally. she connects over the internet, navigates to her folder then gets an error when she tries to dl a couple files. i log in as her, remotely, and do the same thing and it works. the error she gets is
The operation cannot be completed because one or more required items cannot be found. (Error code -43)
the log shows her going through this on the server side:
IP xxx.175.101.134 - - [09/Dec/2008:11:06:00 -0800] "Login Rachael" 0 0 0 **** - - [09/Dec/2008:11:06:01 -0800] " admin" 0 1228703302 10 **** - - [09/Dec/2008:11:06:01 -0800] " patty" 0 1228703302 29 **** - - [09/Dec/2008:11:06:01 -0800] " admin" 0 1228703302 49 IP xxx.175.101.134 - - [09/Dec/2008:11:06:01 -0800] "Reconnected User: Rachael" 0 1228703302 74 IP xxx.175.101.134 - - [09/Dec/2008:11:06:12 -0800] "Logout Rachael" 0 0 0
note the crazy number where usually 3 zeros are, and also this thing about users who aren't even logged in. EDIT: these seem to be reconnection sessions that are saved ? so she is reconnecting to a saved session. any ideas
