Any hope for uid/pw VPN access (AT&T) from OS X?

The faq is clear that this is a kernel limitation, but if anyone has any information about this functionality ever becoming available or is aware of some commercial product that can do this, I’d appreciate the info.

I’m trying to connect from Jaguar to an AT&T Global Network Managed Services VPN for my job. It nails me that this requires Windows when my work is all on Solaris!
