ParticipantIf I put an .app into a DMG container, will it automatically add it to Applications?
I want to add CoRD to my build, but it’s in a zip file which turns out to be an .app. I know InstaDMG can’t handle this without it being in a DMG container (the way FireFox and other app installers are setup). I’ll test it out on my own later but wanted to ask here as well.

ParticipantYep. A bare .app gets copied to /Applications by default. If its a .pkg in a dmg, it installs the pkg.

ParticipantI tried this yesterday and it failed with a “no items to install” error, killing the workflow. I did it with the latest Firefox dmg. Is there any particular version of the script I need to be running? I am running 1.6b2 (listed as 1.6rc1 in the script itself).

ParticipantHey Jazzace,
I will test this tomorrow, but could you post the relevant part of the debug log and the beginning of the log so we can see the exact version and what you’re running it on? Also, are you setting it up with InstaUp2Date? Thanks,
Allister

ParticipantI tested CoRD after using DIskUtility ‘New Image… From Folder’ and navigating to the unzipped app, which I then placed the resulting dmg in /Caches/InstaUp2DateCache. I have used the same dmg’s that Firefox and Chrome download in, so we’ll need more info before we can assist you. Thanks, Allister
