First post to this so be patient. Currently supporting a customer who is having issues when copying from file shares hosted on a Windows 2K3 box. The issue occurs when a user attempts a copy from the server on to their mac. The finder displays the copying dialog box but nothing happens. The only way to cancel the operation is to relaunch Finder.

All users are 10.6.x, services for macintosh are on as they used to connect via AFP but have reverted to SMB connection as AFP was very unstable.

At first I thought it might be a problem with DNS so I tried connecting to the server via IP address but the problem persists. I cant see that it could be permissions as it can happen to any user on any different machine.

All machines are bound to an AD but they all use local homes.

Any ideas would be much appreciated
