    Hello,

My University central IS looking to implement a new and improved AD Forest. I’d like for them to add the Apple schema extensions, but they’re remiss to do so without some official documentation on the process.

Everything I’ve found, including http://images.apple.com/business/solutions/it/docs/Best_Practices_Active_Directory.pdf and the Online Seminar for extending the schema, all reference 2003 R2 or greater. Which, is great, except ADAM doesn’t exist anymore. It’s been replaced with some kind of AD Light.

Anyway, does anyone know if Apple has official documentation on extending the schema with Server 2008? And if so, how to get ahold of said documentation? And if not, WHY THE HECK NOT!?

Thanks very much! Hopefully someone has good news…

    MacTroll,

Yeah, that makes sense. But, still, where’s the white paper on this? Or some type of “feel good” official documentation? The Online Seminar is fine (though the server that those are on must be on a DSL connection or something, cause it streams horribly, and downloads at 40KB/sec), but it doesn’t really give you something that you can point your boss to and say “here’s what we want to do”.

This May 2009 whitepaper may be the one that you are looking for:
