Not a OS X server question really but I run into an odd problem and I wonder if you have seen this. I don’t know if this is a bug or something strange with my installation. After I updated to 10.5.3 from 10.4.11, whenever a udf dvd disc is inserted, I can see it being recognized but it is not mounted -the disc is greyed out in the disc utility, and the utility will not let me mount it. Same results through the terminal. However if I go to the terminal and type

and reinsert the disc it is still greyed out but now I can mount it -either through the terminal or the mount command in disk utility, and can open it with the finder . Also this problems only seems to be affecting my intel boxes, the ppc boxes running 10.5.3 seem to work fine. Any ideas?

Have you installed any third party filesystems that might be conflicting?

Nope. It was working fine on 10.4.11 before I upgraded to 10.5.3. I might have to clean install all the machines.

Found the issue.Back in the 10.4 days we were usinga program called GreatDVD -which includes readDVD, to be able to read certain types of DVD. GreatDVD adds it’w own support to give 10.4. the ability to be able to mount certain disks. Turns out in 10.5 you don’t need ReadDVD any longer and in fact it was causing my 10.5 boxes not ot recognize the disks.
