I have a MacPro running Leopard server in Advanced mode. I have two laptops running Leopard client. I have configured a mobile account on the server with AFP, DNS and OD all setup and configured.
When I log in from either of the two laptop clients, my mobile account preferences are synced correctly and everything is as it should be. However, when I try and log into my mobile account on the MacPro machine that is running Leopard server, it logs me in just fine but I get the following message:
Connection failed
This file server is running on your machine. Please access the volumes
and files locally.
And none of my mobile account preferences are synced up.
I have no clue how to fix this. My thought is that this is happening because in Workgroup Manager I have the path for my home folder located at:
afp://server.mynetwork.home/mobile/landerson. Since server.mynetwork.home is the machine I’m on it is complaining. If this is in fact the cause of the problem I don’t know what other value I could enter for my home folder location.
Any ideas? I’m completely stumped by this. Thanks in advance.
