I’m running an OD Leopard server 10.5.2 with bound Leopard clients 10.5.2. My users are able to login, my users can change their password via System Preferences->Accounts. But for some reason, when their password expires, my clients cannot change their password in the login window. So for a test i created a test user and told the account password to be reset at next login and I also tried at first login. Both with the same result, the login window just shakes like a miniature poodle.

    Any takers?

I found a link with exact problem

Unfortunately there’s a big old ZIP in the logs. No errors to speak of in both the client and the server. I checked all Open Directory logs via Server Admin, and all /Library/Logs/Directory Services in the client.

    Any other suggestions?

Where is the login window password validation set?
