I have created a very simple package using PackageMaker. It is nothing more then an OS X application that I am replacing in the /Applications directory. When I run the package locally, it works fine. When I try to use ARD to install it, it does not seem to work on one iMac but does work on an eMac. When it does not work there is no indication that anything failed. It says the installation was successful however, the application is not copied. In this state I cannot mass deploy the application since I won’t know on which machines it worked and on which it failed. How can I either debug the problem and determine why it is failing on that iMac or determine why a failure says it was successful? TIA.

I have a little more information that someone might be able to respond to. After a lot of hair pulling I decided to try running the package on the errant machine directly instead of via ARD (please don’t ask why I didn’t do this sooner 😳 ). It fails there as well telling me that there is nothing to install. How did it decide that since it is untrue and how can I fix it? TIA.

Never mind, I found the problem. There was apparently a bad or corrupt receipt for that app on that particular machine. I removed it and now I can install via ARD with no problems.
