Is it possible to replace the TRAY LOAD CD drive of a 2002 xServe with an internal DVD drive? I have looked but have been unable to find one. I know Apple didn’t make it as an option when they rolled out, but thought a third party vendor might have filled the niche. I would like it so I don’t have to use target disk mode for installing Leopard, as well as being able to burn files. The tray load CD is becoming unreliable (primary reason).
If none are available, does this version of xServe support external DVD boot drives?
