I finally got a copy of Leopard and I have begun to do some testing. A little background on our setup. Our Macs are bound to our Windows 2003 domain and we do not bind them to OD. We have not begun to manage our machines on OD yet but will in the future. We have been binding machines since 10.4.5.
Here is the 10.5 issue. I did a clean Erase and Install on an Intel iMac. I did not run the updates yet. I then went into Directory Utility. Once I clicked around and figured out how to bind the machine and configure the AD settings. I made everything identical to what we have on 10.4. I got it all set up and clicked bind. I tried my credentials which have always worked. They didn’t work. I then used our groups admin account which is a normal account (not domain admin) and it was able to let me bind.
Punch Line: I went to log in with a normal account with a Home Directory set up. I got an error that said that I couldn’t log in with that account at that time. I tried 4 other accounts and none of them worked. I went back into Directory Utility and turned off UNC path setting and then was able to log into all of the accounts but of course I am not getting the Home Directory mounting in the Dock anymore.
I can post the dsconfigad info someone thinks it would be useful. I am not in a big hurry but I would like to open up a discussion to see if anyone else is seeing this issue.
