I know about /Library/Logs and /var/log. Plus, in my case, I’m running the latest apache so I have log files in /usr/local/apache2/logs/.

Questions:
1) Are there other places where log files are kept?
2) Is the a pre-existing utility that can be customized that will start new log files periodically, compress the old, and keep them nice and tidy?

Some of them or not easy to archive because you have to know which daemon uses them and how to ask it to switch to a new log file. So, I’m hoping someone has already done all the leg work for me.
