I am in the process of upgrading my OD server from 10.3.9 to 10.4.6 and I am running into a problem. It seems that the 10.4.6 server to a 10.4.6 client is still showing only 15 groups when I log in as a user and type groups at the terminal. I would think its just a problem with the groups command to showing correctly, but I don’t have access to a bunch of folders that I should have access to.

I seem to remember seeing something about this a few months back, but for the life of me, I can’t find anything. I though this was fixed in 10.4? Is there something special I have to do to get it to work?

    Thanks,
    Brent

The groups and id tools haven’t been updated to show more than 16 memberships.

right, I remember reading that they hadn’t been updated ( probably on here), but the thing is I don’t have access to things on the server based on no group access. I basically have about 22 groups in one user, and if I create 22 files each one with group access to each group, I don’t have access to 7 of them.

This should not be happening? correct?

    Thanks,
    Brent

The builtin FTP-Server in OSXS 10.4.8 still suffers from this problem. Only the first 15 groups are taken into consideration. The bug is posted on Apple Bug Reporter ID 4902269 but is marked as duplicate. 🙁

Check the latest software updates, I think I saw that the server just had a release that addressed this issue.
