Hi all,
Although this isn’t directly related to OS X server, I thought the admins in this forum might be able to give some guidance.
I’m looking for a standalone VPN applicance (i.e not OS X server or other PC-based solution) that will allow remote Mac OS X (10.4.x) users secure access to my LAN, preferably via L2TP/IPSec. My requirements are simple:
1) Works with 10.3.x and/or 10.4.x ‘Internet Connect’ app (i.e. no 3rd party software required, such as VPN tracker, IPSecuritas, etc.). I’m happy to manually tweak client config files, but do not want to use 3rd party software.
2) Uses L2TP/IPSec (not PPTP, SSL-VPN, etc.)
3) Is a standalone firewall appliance (i.e. not Mac OS X server, OpenVPN, or other software running on a PC).
I’ve been told that CyberGuard boxes work great with Tiger clients without 3rd party VPN software. Can anyone confirm this?
Or: can anyone recommend another hardware solution that they’ve tested and that meets my 3 needs?
Thank you!!
