    I cannot get Gallery2 running on my Tiger Server (10.4.2). I keep getting stuck at Database setup. The error refers to the mysql.sock file that is supposed to be in the tmp folder. I do not even have that file in the tmp folder. What/how does it get created? Is there any difference between Tiger server and Tiger Client as it pertains to running Gallery2/mysql?

    I am running mysql 4.x that came installed on Tiger Server.

    Those of you who have Gallery Running on a Tiger Server can you help me find my mistake and fix it?

    Similar problem here. If I do a mysql -v I get an error that says
    “Can’t connect to local MYSQL server through socket ‘/var/mysql/mysql.sock’

    No clue what to do to fix it. I’m trying to add DBI and DBD modules to MYSQL and think this may be the problem.

    This is a known issue that happens when u install a new mysql other than the one apple provided.
