I have a 10.3.9 server just doing file sharing, the server only has 4 user’s that all log in as guests there is no other problem with the server apart from. Every 4-5 days the /Library/Logs/Applefileservice fill up with 11 gigs of 4k .gz files that are full of this error:
20/Sep/2005:13:40:37 0000: AFP/AppleTalk listener closed because of AppleTalk error.
each .gz file will have about 10 secs worth of error’s ie logging the same error repeatedly for 10 secs.
There are thousands of these .gz files.
i have tried changing the error logging schedule in server admin even turning it off, but the problem still persist’s
i have rebuilt permissions and fsck -fy from single user mode. but am at a loss as to why this is happening.
The server has been fine over the past year or so.
