So. By the good graces of all things that are out of my hands, apparently a few unknown co-workers at my university like to unplug the small Linksys switch that one of our main printers is attached to for whatever reason.

When this happens, like it did a few days ago, and someone’s trying to send a print job through to my server running OS X 10.4.2 Server, the queue stops. I’ve also noticed that the queue doesn’t seem to automatically restart itself after the printer has been plugged back in to the network correctly. Does anyone know of a setting, script, or otherwise that could make Server attempt to connect to the printer every, say, 10 seconds? That way if a print job was backed up, it’d eventually print. Or, better yet, should the queue be doing this on its own?

Any help’s good help, thanks, later!
