    I’m working to secure a mail server setup.

    Idea is to lock down port 25 via the firewall to specified hosts only.

    I also want to open 2525 only for authenticated SMTP. I would like to have the second Mail service show up in Server Admin, is that possible? I could get a listener running on 2525, but it would be nice to have it through Server Admin.

    As a last resort I would change the default SMTP port on the server to 2525 and make other changes, but looking through the GUI and through xinitd I could not find the setting to change the TCP port.

    2nd mail service…change default SMTP port…

    any ideas?

    I looked through /etc/postfix/ and also didn’t see anything to change the port, as I’ve been curious about this as well. The smtpd does not appear to be part of xinetd.
