    I was thinking about setting up a hardware raid 1 w/ Acard’s 6890M raid controller and 2 identical drives. Mostly just to have a mirror of server settings and user home directories (in case of drive failure). Anybody have any input such as It works / Doesn’t work or a better idea.

    They say in the manual that there is? i’ll give a try this sunday. I was concerned about the OS’s ability to run on a raid but I can’t find anything that says it cant

    have the Acard AEC-6880M running a mirrored raid of two WD800jb’s on g4500

    runs fine, but trying to figure out how to notify myself by email when a drive fails. otherwise, seems worthless as a server solution.
