Mountain Lion Software Update Changes

If you didn’t catch this PSA from Greg Neagle earlier this month, it is worth a look.  Mountain Lion now uses a https url to pull updates from Apple rather than simple a http url.  This shouldn’t be a huge deal for most people, but if you were hijacking DNS to redirect all Apple Software Update requests to an internal Apple Software Update Server, this will effect you.  If you are currently pointing machines to your internal Apple Software Update Server via MCX or by setting the CatalogURL in /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate, you will be unaffected by this change.
