web hosting & domain names – OS X 10.4.8 Server

How can i host my web site and get my domain names working ? I've looked everywhere on the AFP site regarding my issue and also other sites on Google but I can't seem to figure it out OR what the problem is. It seems minor but iim baffled! SERVICES My Web server (OS X Server 10.4.8) has these services running: – FTP – Mail – Web I have a number of domain names, but in particular can't get the main one working, domainname.net.nz, let alone the others. The docs and PDF references from Apple are terrible to say the least!! DNS INFO – My Domain Names are being pointed by the DOMAIN REGISTRAR at my Static IP address – I have the pinhole through my firewall working which goes to the OS X Web Server IP address, which i believe is working correctly. – When i TRACEROUTE to www.domainname.net.nz from www.dnsstuff.com i get the IP Address of my router which is good. IN SERVER ADMIN >> WEB Services > Settings Button > Sites Tab, I've configured the Domain Name as follows: Domain Name = domainname.net.nz IP Address = Any Port = 80 Web Folder = /Library/WebServer/Documents Default index files = index.html The Enable box is checked MORE INFORMATION – I don't have any alias established under the domain name >> Aliasas Tab > W"eb Server aliases", or under the next box down the "URL aliass and redirects", although have tried www.domainname.net.nz in the "Web Server Aliases" box – I haven't enabled anything under REALMS as i didn't believe this effected webhosting. – there is just the one domain name in the SITES tab – Does DNS need to be running as a service even though the A RECORD is pointing by my registrar at my STATIC IP address? PROBLEM: When I go to the domain name, via www.domainname.net.nz or domainname.net.nz it doesn't open, and produces a not found error - this is with or without www. QUESTION: What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do to get this running? Do i need another service started that should be? I can't seem to figure out what the issue is although i don't think im doing anything wrong, and also haven't got the DNS service running which i believe is CORRECT as im not hosting the DNS myself. HELP ! Thanks so much for your help !!
