Ubuntu clients and Open Directory

Hello all, Does anyone have links to or other pointers to a guide to binding Ubuntu clients to an OSX Open Directory? I've been struggling with it and have been told that Fedora is much easier for this. Does this mean I should be able to install whatever LDAP utility is in Fedora's build into Ubuntu? Any help gratefully recieved. B
