Two Questions: Auto connect to server, garbled text

I have somehow got a user account under 10.2 Server that wants to logon to an old non-existent server every time you login. I do not know how to stop this. Under 9, you just delete the servers folders contents now, I am not sure. Could it be a problem in the server settings, or just a user setting? My second question is about the garbled text that appears in Safari and Mail. I have read the solutions from Apple and they do not work. Has anyone come up with a definative answer on this subject. I have read a couple of threads here and elsewhere, but there appears to be no clear cut solution to the problem. Thanks for any help.
