trying to install but won’t boot from CD

Hey all, i'm trying to install OS X Server onto a brand new(been out of the box for under 4 days) dual 1.25. But the computer won't boot off the CD, The computer shipped with OS X.2.4 and the server is X.2. Anyone have any ideas
