Telnet: Connection closed by foreign host.

Hi,
Wondering if anyone has come across something like this before.

Background info - no firewall, dedicated IP, farily simple network topography, 1 switch 1 hub, 1 airport router.

Trying to connection to xxx.domain.com - this is possible on many machine OUTSIDE the network (i.e. at home, friends place, etc.) internally on the network, here is what I receive:

$telnet xxx.domain.com 110
Trying 66.48.93.8...
Connected to xxx.domain.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

Then nothing, I can connect to several other servers that I know accept incoming requests on port 21, 110, 23, etc... I am at a loss here and have not much of an idea of where to go from here. Nothing in the hosts files which stop me from connection to this server (at least on my end) and when i call the provider the server is alive and well, reporting no problems.

Thanks in Advance,
Jefferey
