I've got the strangest problem with a couple of my servers. I replaced the 250 gig hard drives in my Xserve with 400 gig drives. I did a clean install of the OS from the discs that came with my Xserve (it's running Panther). I applied the same IP address that was previously assigned to this Xserve and now I can't surf the web from this machine. It's got a manual IP address. If I put the server on DHCP, I can surf. If I assign a different manual IP, I can surf.
This is also happening on 2 other servers. It's a bit mysterious. I thought changing the IP of a server was not a good thing to do.
The server is just running AFP. It's not an OD server and not bound to AD or anything like that. My users can connect to it, so browsing to it is not an issue. I would like to run software update, though.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
