Snow Leopard Server & Mobile accounts

Hi I'm trying to set up mobile accounts & portable home directories & somehow I managed to synchronise my user data into a black hole... The scenario is this: - SL server on a Mac Pro is my main machine. I use this as both a workstation and a server (I know I shouldn't do this, but its for the short term only). It has a local admin account plus a number of network (user) accounts configured via WGM - I have 3 x macbook pros (local accounts) and 1 x Imac (network accounts) I can log in to the server and the Imac as a network user with a consistent view of my user data (other than how shares appear if you log in to the server) What I'm trying to do is to move to mobile accounts with portable home directories, synching prefs and (some) of the relevant users home directory. All was going swimmingly until I logged into the server using an account that had been set up as a mobile account - it then decided to sync itself into a black hole and ultimately deleted all the user data. The question is: - Is a configuration where the mobile account data and the network account data are actually on the same machine (i.e. the server) supported? If not, and the loss of data is the expected behaviour, are there any workarounds? My gut feel is that I must have done something else wrong - it would be pretty dangerous to expect people to never enter account credentials for a mobile account on the server if iit results in deletion of your data! Any thoiughts? Pete ( Mac OS X newbie..)
