Slow startup when enabling Active Directory plugin with 10.4.10

My mac 10.4.10 has a really slow startup when enabling the Active Directory Plug in. When I disable the AD plug in it boots normally, but really slow when I enable it. Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks, Sunshine
