Security update 2008-005 breaks the image?

Hi all. I'm trying to build an image with almost all update, specially with the big and important ones like the security update. When i add the sec.update, with intel (180Mb) or just Leopard (what does that mean? 65MB) the image is unusable. When i start a freshly imaged computer it gets stuck very early, just behind loading the usb-exts if i remember right. Is there any trick to get by this? thx p
