Raid 1 or 0+1 w/ G5 server 10.3.5

I was thinking about setting up a hardware raid 1 w/ Acard's 6890M raid controller and 2 identical drives. Mostly just to have a mirror of server settings and user home directories (in case of drive failure). Anybody have any input such as It works / Doesn't work or a better idea.
