Postfix and 10.2.4

I have installed postfix as described on this website but if I telnet to the server it connects saying this and nothing more, Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^}'. Then there is never any HELO conformation. What should I do to enable postfix on my server? if you would like to run some tests you are welcome to at internalcircle.com THANKS!
