OS10.3 Server and PHP GD2 Graphic Library

I would like to have the GD2 Graphic extension in our PHP. We have PHP 4.3.2 that came with 10.3 Server. Is this possible? There is a lot of talk about the PHP 4.3.6 (entropy.ch Release 4) from Marc Linage, but there also seems to be doubt if his version works with OS10.3 Server or breaks OSX Server, as almost everything else does. Is there anybody out there that has OSX.3 Server and GD2 installed and survived the install to tell about it? If so, I would like hear your suggestions to getting GD2 going on a OSX.3 Server box. Can anyone confirm that the GD2/PHP that comes with Panther (10.3) Server is really junk and must be replaced?
