I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this question but hopefully someone can help me.
We have some users (not all) that cannot change the order of items in their startup items option. The environment is that the users login via OD and their home directories, along with some other directories are auto-mounted by the OD server. When new items are added to their startup list they are placed before the auto-mounts. This is the wrong place so we drag them after the auto-mounts in the list. When we exit 'System Preferences' then restart it the order is back to the incorrect one.
So far we have tried checking permissions on the plists and they are correct. We have also compared file and folder attributes wiht working users and could fince no difference. Next we deleted the loginwindow.plist and com.apple.loginwindow.plist. Then let the sytem recreate them. None of this has worked.
Can anyone give me some ideas on where to look for solving this problem? TIA.
