Office 2008 User Customization script with Local Users

Is it possible to utilize the 2008 Office customization without Directory Services? Since the script utilized First/Last name as variables and the default account setup only requests that the user input 'Full Name'- has anyone tweaked the script to parse out the username so as to complete the Microsoft registration?
