niutil -list does nothing – Help?

I'm following the article listed here on making a 10.2 server a LDAP based PDC. I'm stuck at one part.... When I do the command "sudo niutil -list / /machines" nothing happens. I enter my password and it just sits there, I then have to control, C. Any ideas why this is happening?
