I'm preparing myself for what is likely to be an EXTREMELY painful migration to Tiger, as we have hacks in our system from the Jaguar Server and Panther Server days.
One of those hacks was using Exim to feed different addresses to different mailboxes. As a result, I have multiple dummy accounts that exist to collect email. In addition to this creating a really annoying number of accounts, it isn't practical as I try to support wireless email (not Blackberry, just IMAP+SSL clients remotely via Palms and Smart Phones).
I would like to forward all these various accounts (I have school alumni accounts, plus various addresses that I can switch to aliases) directly into my account (ideally where they show up under the Inbox, despite having altnamespaces on, good luck there, no?), and then place them into subfolders.
Essentially, I would like ahochber+alum to forward into my alum folder. I have given BOTH anyone and anonymous wp access to this folder in cyradm.
This, combined with Server-Side spam filtering (which I will implement post-Tiger migration) should make Wireless email nice and painless for people with millions of accounts.
I figure that once I get this down, adding shared folders with similar permission schemes shouldn't be too bad.
