Moving a server to a different IP address

Hope this is the right forum… I need to move an existing server to a different location and IP address. For some reason I have this mentally flagged as a potential disaster. Once upon a time, I seem to recall, changing something as basic as the IP address required a complete reinstall. This was pre-Tiger. Current configuration is as a standalone server: filesharing, mail, FTP, Apache and QTSS. Is this still a minefield? Are there any things that should be done ahead of time? Any warnings, tips or advice would be much appreciated.
