Does anyone know how I could move my mail/webserver from and old G4 to a nice new dual G5. Obviously I could just install a new system on the G5, set it up as a replica and restore a back up of the mail store and the postfix alias etc.
Unfortunately though my 90 users will recieve all thier mail again - the last time this happened I took a lot of flack. So I was thinking either I could clone the G4 and then "add in" the files needed to run on the G5 or I could move the mail store preserving the users downloaded mail state or use the sieve rules to remove most of the read mail before I move the mailstore so that users don't get a deluge.
To me the most elegant way to do this would be to move the mail store whilst preserving the downloaded mail state. Does anyone have any comments or know how to do this?? Does anyone have a better idea?
