mounting a volume by UUID

Hi guys, how to 'manually' mount a volume by its UIDD? In Linux I can use mount -U, but I don't hava such option neither in mount nor mount_hfs (I'm not interesting mounting by /etc/fstab ) Any glue? regards Rick
