Migration tips request
Hello everyone,
I plan on migrating our ODM to Leopard here in the next day or so and am just wanting some tips. I have read up on most documentations and have a good idea of what to do, but I would just like some feed back from someone who has done this to make myself sleep better at night.
I have an Open Directory Master running Tiger 10.4.11 Server. I used server admin to create a back up of the LDAP into a sparse image file. I plan on running server set up assistant to grab all the IP and DNS settings, and then wiping out the server and loading 10.5 on it. Then using that plist to bring back the server settings and then go into the directory service part of server admin and restore that back up to restore my current LDAP.
Seems pretty darn straight forward. However, when it sounds that easy it sometimes too good to be true.
Thoughts and suggestions are extremely welcome and appreciated.
Also, the upgrade to Leopard is going to happen, because there are a few features we need on the client side, and I need to have a Leopard back end to support a Leopard client.
Thanks,
Tom
