We are about to migrate a bunch of clients (10.4.2) from an OD server running 10.3.9 to one running 10.4.2. In our testing we discovered a problem with workgroup managed items. Specifically we have groups set up to automount certain share points. When we move a clent that was on the 10.3 server to the 10.4 server the automounts do not occur. Indeed, the old mountpoints from the Panther server are mounted instead.
We have found that doing an archive install does not cure the problem but an erase install does cure it. The problem is we cannot afford the man power to erase install each of the clients nor should that be necessary. The implication is that somewhere there is a system file (not a user file) that needs to be replaced or removed to get rid of the old server remenent. Does someone happen to know what file might cause this or how to find out what file it is (we already know it is not netinfo -> config -> mcx_cache). TIA.
