InstaDMG images not journaled

hello everyone, I just realized that my latest InstaDMG image results in a HFS+ volume, not HFS+ journaled. Any idea how I got into this situation? The DMG itself says it's plain HFS+ and any machines that the image is restored onto are also not journaled. tia
