Hiding symlinks in the root on a cloned volume

Last evening I cloned a Tiger server system volume from one disk to another using Disk Utility. On the newly created clone, symlinks for etc, tmp, and var show up in the root when viewed with the Finder whereas they don't on the original drive. Is there any way to re-hide those symlinks on the cloned drive?
