First Boot (different question…)

Just wondering what the difference is between putting things in the firstboot and the postflight is and is there a preference for say commands (rm prehaps) and write defaults etc eg should one go in the firstboot and the other in postflight? Just not sure what to put where and why. Regards Tristan
