Feedback on Lion deployments

So for the past few months since Lion came out I haven been able to get an image working. Hasnt been a big deal but it is getting a little annoying (details in my previous post last month, something about a disc space issue). So im asking what everyone else uses for generating and deploying images. My setup is (3x) Snow Leopard Servers. Ive had no real problems with snow leopard deployments except for when releases are forked. Should I upgrade my servers to Lion just to create/deploy? I tried creating a instadmg vanilla/payloadless image serveral times in a lion client and deploying on the SL server. I wonder if its something as silly as not deploying from lion svr.
