Drop boxes

With 10.4.6 and a client and server bound to AD, when a user drops a folder or file into a folder with write only/drop box permissions, the user maintains ownership of the file or folder. Is there a way to allow the folder's owner to to take ownership of the items dropped into the drop box? The way it is, the owner can't delete or rename the files. I have to log in as root and chown -R the drop boxes to give the owner control again.
