DNS help needed

Dear Admins I did setup almost successfully SLS 10.6.2 on a Mac Mini newest modell. Now I have some DNS issues. I do DHCP on the same server and the clients do get there IP numbers according the MAC address. They are getting the following entries. IP: 192.168.99.x Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.99.254 DNS: 192.168.99.1 (my SLS server), 195.186.1.162, 195.186.4.162 (DNS of my provider) I can surf the internet without problems. But if I try to access the server over Server-Admin, I'm not able to use the DNS name server.private, I have to use either the IP of the server or server.local to connect. DNS is setup the following way: 1.99.168.192.in-addr.arpa. is 192.168.99.1 with name server.private. 99.168.192.in-addr.arpa. with something like 192.168.99.11 with name thomas.server.private. server.private. with thomas (Computer) and value 192.168.99.11 as well as server.private. (Computer) with value 192.168.99.1 Now if I do a lookup with Network Utility of lets say DNS name server.private I don't get a replay. Even if I tell Network Utility to use 192.168.99.1 as DNS server. If I do the same on the server I get the following replay. „Lookup“ has been started … ; > DiG 9.6.0-APPLE-P2 > -x 192.168.99.11 +multiline +nocomments +nocmd +noquestion +nostats +search ;; global options: +cmd 11.99.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 10800 IN PTR thomas.server.private. 99.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 10800 IN NS server.private. server.private. 10800 IN A 192.168.99.1 What I can say is, that this worked until yesterday on every client machine in my network. Now it doesn't work anymore. Does anyone have a idea what's going wrong and how to fix that without a complete new install of SLS? Thank you in advance for your help. Kind regards Thomas Thaler
