Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay. JOB DESCRIPTION: Analyzes, designs, recommends, and implements micro-based Local Area Networks. Installs and configures Local Area Network servers and related hardware and software. Analyzes, designs, recommends and implements workstation connectivity. Consults with and assists with system enhancements and modifications. Provides technical support, documentation, project implementation management, and design modifications to meet business objectives. Troubleshoots desktop and connectivity problems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of information technology experience OR a bachelor's degree and three years of information technology experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Emory College Computing Support is seeking diverse candidates for an opportunity to directly support the technology needs of a large science department. The successful candidate will actively participate in day-to-day operations, projects, problem resolution and planning through a balance of technical acumen, customer service and leadership skills. Position will have at least one subordinate to manage. The position supports teaching/research faculty, administrative staff and research laboratories within a mixed environment of both PC and Macs. Skills in security awareness, Active Directory and desktop management within an academic setting are desired. Candidates must have well defined Macintosh skills for consideration. Candidates must be able to lift up to forty pounds.
